Truckers Productivity

SeaBridge will greatly enhance truckers’ productivity over many routes. A trucker hauling a load from San Antonio to Orlando requires about 48 hours by road alone. These forty-eight hours include twenty-five hours for legally-required rest periods. Only about half of the total duration is actually spent driving.

Using SeaBridge, the trucker can complete the journey in about 32 hours, taking the required rest on board ship. Alternatively, the trucking company can send only the trailer on ship, leaving the tractor. On the other end, another tractor pulls the trailer the remaining short distance.

The 12 hours saved on this journey can be used to haul additional revenue-producing loads. The ability to use the fixed assets (tractors and trailers) of the company more fully makes SeaBridge a very attractive partner in business. Moreover, drivers can be deployed more efficiently to mitigate the driver shortages that are being experience in the industry today.
