| Military ApplicationsThe Department of Defense has been searching for a way to increase its ability to project U.S. military power rapidly and support its Sea Power 21 initiative. The high speed sea lift capability of SeaBridge ships can move both personnel and equipment directly from the U.S. to theatres of operation around the world.Based on meetings and briefings with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army in 2004, SeaBridge’s ship design appears to meet many of the military’s needs without compromising the commercial applications for which the ship is intended. In times of emergency, SeaBridge offers the military an invaluable resource: a fleet of ships ready for service, operated by trained merchant mariners and requiring only minimal retrofitting.
